At Swisstex, we adhere to a green corporate philosophy, with a full range of earth-friendly production and business practices that reduce waste and save natural resources. We pass this eco-advantage on to our clients, in the knowledge that their fabrics were produced to a higher standard and efficiency.
We are continuously searching for ways to minimize our environmental footprint. As a result, we consume half the energy in our facility as the typical dyeing facility in the United States - with even greater savings over comparable facilities worldwide - measured in resources consumed per pound of fabric dyed.
SWISSTEX firmly believes in the recycling, reuse of all material possible.
You will not find the use of any carriers for polyester dyeing or any resins or Formaldehydes that would be used for shrinkage control.
Our commitment to operating a low impact facility leads us to alternative finishing procedures in order to avoid the use of extremely harsh chemicals that are harmful to humans or the environment.
Following is a list of some of the major measures we have taken at Swisstex California:
Swisstex is the only Textile Company in California that is utilizing a Thermal Oxidizing system to clean the hot exhaust air leaving the dryers. In this oxidation process, exhaust air is trapped and burned off at 1100 degrees Fahrenheit, recycling dryer air and producing steam. The Result: we have substantially lowered our gas usage and contributed to cleaner air. We have retrofitted all office and plant lighting, cutting electricity usage in half compared to conventional lighting.
A state of the art Waste Water Heat Recovery System enables us to recover the waste water energy and use it to preheat incoming cold water.
We keep water usage in our plant at a minimum with computerized controls, using just enough water to run our pumps. Water is recycled as many times as possible. Installation of sky lights that supply daylight during the day.
The facility uses natural gas as its energy source and utilizes ultra low Nox gas burners.

Swisstex California complies with all requirements of Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, intended to protect California citizens and drinking water from chemicals known to cause cancer or other harm. For example we do not use sulphur dyes, even though they are legal in the United States.
